This Christmas is the best Christmas ever. We all had fun in Boracay as we dined, drank, swam and ate our hearts out. The family was inseparable. We did everything together as we tried to catch up on each other’s lives. It was good to talk. No conflicts, no hassles. I wish every day would be as uncomplicated as the last four days in this beautiful island. But it’s back to reality for us. In any case, hope you had a wonderful time with your family on Christmas day. Here are a few pictures from our Christmas in Boracay.

So we’re heading to Boracay for Christmas. I’m so excited since I have not been to the place for more than ten years now. Plus the fact that I’ll be with my family this time around. My past visits were part work and part leisure everytime. This time around would be all about fun and time with the people who truly matter in my life. Nearly everyone’s present except for my my mom, my sister and her family who are living abroad. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you all.

camera bags

I love taking pictures but the thing is, I hate carrying the camera on my shoulder. It’s just too inconvenient. My camera is not the typical point and shoot one. It’s a Digital SLR. I’ve tried shopping for a camera bag but I always said to myself, “Who wants to carry a camera bag in addition to your regular one?” I shared my dilemma to other photographer friends and they all had their own stories about what they used to wrap their cameras with: towels, sweaters, wash cloths, and bubble wrap. I realized there was definitely a need to secure the camera in its rightful place. Everyone who has a camera should have a camera case and one of those camera bags. That’s it. That’s the only solution to this recurring problem.

My son is taking up Physical Therapy and he has two more years to go. It’s a good enough degree especially if he plans to make a career abroad. Physical therapists are paid well in the US but not back home. Do you know who else gets paid high? A Chef. Right now, hospitality and culinary schools are growing in popularity as the industry thrives both here and abroad. But business schools would never go out of style. But there’s something about not wearing corporate attires and working in an office that seem attractive to most kids nowadays. My niece is currently taking up culinary arts business course at a local College and in 8 months she’ll be graduating. She has so many options. She could put up her own restaurant or she could pursue a career as an executive chef in a hotel or a restaurant. But whichever she chooses, I know she would succeed because she loves what she’s doing. I couldn’t say the same for my son who has been slaving for hours everyday studying and reading 4-inch thick books. Anyway, a course in Culinary Arts is being offered in one College Chicago. 2010 horoscope

Are you someone who follows the horoscope on a daily basis? I used to do that when I was younger when I had all the time to do many things. But after two children, new priorities have cropped up. My sister has been in the US for almost 20 years now but she has only gone as far as Chicago. She plans to visit other states when opportunity presents itself. And one of the must-see places in her list is Colorado. She got intrigued by the beauty of the place after she joined a colorado chat room. Since then, Colorado has been on her mind. I can’t blame her. I’ve dreamed of going there too and seeing Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs.

the lost symbol

On September 15, I’ll be getting the copy of the much awaited book of Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol. I reserved a copy because the book might be sold out by the time I get to the bookstore. According to a reading chat room, copies of the book are expected to be sold out just days after it’s released. I can’t afford to let that happen. I want to read The Lost Symbol as soon as I get hold of my copy. I can’t wait for Tuesday.

Next weekend is another long weekend for us here. And wouldn’t it be nice to go on a Family Vacation? Just some R & R for the whole family with no worries and just pure fun and leisure. Why just a family vacation? Because I just couldn’t go on one of those romantic getaways although that would be nice, too. But I don’t have a partner to play all romantic with, do I? Anyway, it would just be great to go on a road trip to somewhere we’ve never been. To see new scenery, interact with the locals and perhps, do some shopping and try the local restaurants and cuisine. First on my list is a stay in one of the cozy and charming Vermont Hotels where you could see mountains and greens all around. That would be a refreshing sight while drinking your morning coffee or hot chocolate, far from the urban jungle that I happen to see every single day. It would be a nice time to bond with my children again. Be updated with their lives and just share this one memory of extreme relaxation. Just writing about this makes me want to pack my bags and head out to the country. It’s really high time for a vacation.
